Lothian and Borders Police Pipe Band under Pipe Major Ian Duncan winning the Grade One competition at Dunbar on 14 May 2011. The band's MSR set is the march Hugh Kennedy, the strathspey Blair Drummond, and the reel John Morrison of Assynt House.

The main weather hazard of the day was the strong blustery wind with 35mph gusts. This played havoc with some of the tents and stalls. You'll also have to forgive some wind noise on this video. I did have wind protection for the microphone - but not enough.

  • Remind me who else were in the grade that day?

  • @scottimaskedmusician The best way to remind yourself is to consult the RSPBA website (rsbpa.org) and click on either the calendar or the results tab.

  • Lycka till Nicklas.

  • An excellent lesson as to how to properly express a set (esp Blair) and given the challenging weather, a hearty congrats to Ian & the band for a job well done.
