Following the immense success of HBO's cerebral crime drama "The Wire", the series has went worldwide for a while - however, poor sales in Britain have led to the development of a "reimagining" of the popular series.

The renewed series will feature a laughtrack and several major decisions designed to reinforce a sense of British whimsy, including various slapstick setpieces between Herc and Carver as well as a recurring sketch in which McNulty chases a fleeing dog with sausages hanging from its mouth. The producer is tight-lipped about casting, but a rumour indicates that Lenny Henry is to be typecast for the part of Stringer Bell.

  • The funniest thing about this is the *incredibly* detailed description above of why and how The Wire is being remade!

And the little kid's face, obviously.

I don't know how long Doug' Stanhopes been around and how he is regarded makes me laugh tho.I just watched a couple more of stew's clip out of respect for this post.

  • @chunk74 This video is not a Stewart Lee 'skit'. The Uploader took footage from his show and applied his own description to it. He does slow burning clever satire. Two good examples of this are his Richard Hammond set and his Chris Moyles set. There are plenty of links on the side. He has also been on the BBC in one form or other for years. He is not a new discovery and his stand-up, which I have had the pleasure of seeing in person, is highly regarded and thought provoking.

  • @grandmastarflash no problem if you would put stewart's best standup skit, on a link, here first, the one that tickles you most.thankyou x

  • @rigs345 You're a 'toby' filled with hot piss, you don't do the full rhyme, thats the point of slang.

  • @arseymcpherson lenny henry,yes thats my point,perfect thankyou. x
