The Osprey program just hit its 100,000 flight-hour milestone. The program has seen 14 successful combat and humanitarian deployments to places like Iraq, Afghanistan, and Haiti, since it was declared operational in 2007. The Marine Corps is currently phasing out the Vietnam-era CH-46 "Sea Knight" with the new tilt-rotor platform. The Osprey can carry twice the passengers and cargo, and flies twice as fast and high as its predecessor, keeping the Osprey farther away from small-arms fire. Cpl. Michael Krysinski has the story.

  • CONGRATS U.S.A this machine is suppose to be getting a mini gun for its belly thats remote controlled!!! i would love a ride in this BEAST!!!

  • @sasquatch1366 It pleases me that the Osprey is satisfactory to you people, all weapons systems can be effective if used properly and I have high confidence over the American marines and their comrades in the skies. Would be nice if Sweden bought enough for a squadron, Stay Safe American

  • @countolaf32 Navys supposed to be getting some soon.

  • @MrTomte09 i work on the MV-22 osprey and trust me this plane is awesome, they worked all the bugs out of it after the 2000 crash. Now there making it better with small improvements to the avionics and other such things to help the maintainers out. I’ve spoken to many pilots and they love the plane as much as we do. the grunts are a little skeptical at first but once they see what it can do and what it brings to the battle field they'll fall in love with it to like they did with the phrog.

  • That's sweet!
