@SirPrised - it would be funny if my donkey ( its not mine really it lives at the small zoo where I work ) were in an opera because it would be impossible to get him NOT to sing along - I would hate to upset all these ballet lovers ( and I am one of them for sure ) by telling the truth about swans !!! - it is amazing though how most animal rights activists have never worked with animals beyond cats and dogs

I have goats - goats are idiots really trust me - I have horses and donkeys too they on the other hand would love to be in a ballet or an opera particularly the donkey who loves attention - but really goats are very stupid animals

@rivombreuse we used horses here in the philippines for Don Quixote yah know...so its not only in mariinsky and bolshoi. and plus @jewemarkess is right, its not only ballet, other form of dances uses it. especially circuses!

@rivombreuse Horses are often on stage in the US too. Not just for ballet, for opera - e.g. horses in Aida or in London in Carmen. BTW - I couldn't find a video with live lions...
