The Terriers of BU and the Huskies of NU fought to a 2-2 tie at Agganis Arena, with Boston University striking first with two goals in the first period and Northeastern responding with 2 goals of their own in the second period. Brandon Yip opened the scoring getting a great feed from co-captain Matt Gilroy after a tremendous forecheck by BU's fourth line tired out the NU defense. Then after the first penalty of a 5 on 3 advantage for BU had expired, Kevin Shattenkirk's misfired shot bounced right back in front to Colin Wilson, who buried his 14th of the year to put BU 2-0. The second period was all Northeastern though, as a Steve Silva slapshot cut the deficit to 1, and later Wade McLeod was able to sneak a puck behind BU goalie Kieran Millan short side on the power play to tie the game. The third period was a fairly uneventful period, with BU having trouble gaining the offensive zone and NU content to dump the puck every possession. The overtime session was more exciting, but no more goals were scored and the game ended with a 2-2 deadlock.
