If your hobby over the past twenty years was to record news stories as they aired, you tend to have some really curious things in your library. On Oct. 2, 2001, almost a month after Sept. 11, this little faux pas was aired on Fox News. Richard Butler, the former UN inspector appeared on Rita Cosby's show which came on after Hannity and Colmes at the time. Some poor Fox News graphic designer found a picture of Richard Butler to use in a quick blub. Sadly, Richard Butler was also the name of a prominent White supremacist, and that brings us to the goof. It is not known if they ever acknowledged or apologized for this, but after all the things Fox News has done since, it's hard to feel sorry for them.
Meh, could have been worse you know. For example, what if the geniuses in Fox News' "Research Department" had happened to come across a photo of pop band Psychedelic Furs' lead singer Richard Butler?

@Bluesman63 Yeah, because it would have been obvious from just looking at the photo that they had the wrong one. Having said that, I am surprised they didn't!

@p3on The mechanics is not what the title refers to. It's the fact that they should have known better. The problem with that is the fact that Richard Butler the UN inspector was all over the news at that time, and in that particular studio one hour later. It's like that other mistake they made mistaking Tina Fey with Sarah Palin!
