If you look at how people have made permanent magnet alternators for wind turbines and do the same you will get power, they work at lower speeds. The car alternator has to spin quite fast and will probably draw most of the power you have available just to excite the field, with permanent magnets there is no power used to make a field.

@ohyrag Hi there, I wish I had done somthing along these lines, I did not have the money at time so I used what I could, free chains and gears from a bike shop, old car altanator from ebay for £0.99. It really didnt need much more water to work fully.
