  • I have to thank you for making this video. Im orignially from Loudoun County in NVA, Ive lived on the Northern Neck in Heathsville since 1992, my parents loved it SO much they recently moved to Urbanna, renting a townhouse on Grace St behind the Urbanna Market in town. It was hard to explain to my family exactly what this town looked like, reminded me of Cape Cod (I lived there shortly in 1987), so it was nice to be able to show them this video. So I thank you, good job!

  • Hey thats great to hear. Sorry it has taken me so long to respond. I dont check this very much, or as much as I should. You can my blog which contains more northern neck info. Yahoo ID : adirondackersouth

  • Wow. He completely missed the best parts of Urbanna, down on the creek. It's not even a "come-here's guide to Urbanna" -- it's more a "how do we get back to Rt. 17 as quickly as possible?" guide. Look up the history of the town; don't drive and video at the same time; get off the main road!

  • this guy is an idiot, although urbanna is the best friggen place in the world! i am from petersburg and moved to urbanna and have never been so content and calm ever in my life! i love urbanna and everyone in it

  • I have spent most of my summers as a child in Urbanna. I live in Richmond and can't stand it. I plan on coming back here to get away from it all and work on my novel.

  • hahaha.. this cracks me up. *sigh* This should be renamed "Come-here's Guide to Urbanna" - And there should be a note that if you want to do serious boating, Dville is 100 times better, being actually on the bay and not 10 miles up a river from it.

Oh, and by the way, last time I checked (which is pretty frequently, having lived all my life in Middlesex), Urbanna was in the Middle Peninsula, not the Northern Neck. Yes, there is a difference

  • I wanted to let you know the video came in handy last weekend when my brother came down to visit urbanna for the 1st time. He lost cell phone svc couldnt call mom and dad to tell him where to go exactly...luckly he remembered your video & the stop sign after passing urbanna market! Ya know Glutton for Punishment on FoodNetwork has a story about urbanna, we just happened to catch it saturday, so mom and dad got to see what they were in store for in Nov. Do you guys ever go?

  • also... you shouldn't video tape and drive at the same time, its not very safe.

  • All people are doing now is building condos so they can make as much money as they can. Its nothing but a real estate miracle. We dont thrive on Oyster festival either, theres plenty of things to do here, its only boring if your a contractor from Richmond. By the way, the buffalo are in the other direction. Thanks and enjoy your weekends in Urbanna!

  • Yeah, Ived lived here for most of my life. Theres only one victorian house in the town. The only people that have boats here are from out of town. Its not a retirement town, some rich people from out of state bought Rosegill farm because thats what they want to turn our town into.
