  • Many blessing for the monks and the lay people at spirit rock.

  • He's so enlightened, he's reading my mind through the monitor!

  • He isn't taking anything - the people are giving.

  • why does he take things from the hands of a woman if he is from the theravadin sect?

  • If you are really sincere it's not so difficult to ordain. Most Anagarikas who drop out probably do so because they feel the lifestyle is not for them. No shame in that. It's meant to be a period of investigation into what it really means to be ordained.

I will start my own Anagarika training later this year. Feel free to send me a PM if you have questions :)

  • Well, if it is something that the monk doesn't feel good to have for his meal, he?her simply hold his hand over the offering bowl, something like closing it, so the offerer simply take it away..

  • That's Ajahn Amaro. He's the abbot of Abhayagiri monastery in Northern California

  • they accept whatever is placed in their bowls and after they are done collecting the necessary amount of food it is at their discrection to eat what they need to sustain themselves for the day

  • Nice dana :)
