10 juvenile Red Ear Sliders vs 7 Feeder Fish
This video was filmed by me and features my 10 young red ear sliders, some of them are 2 years old, others around 1 and a half years This video was filmed by me and features my 10 young red ear sliders, some of them are 2 years old, others around 1 and a half years old.

Since it is the weekend, i decided to buy some feeder fish for them to feast on.

I fed them with some live feeder fish once per week as a source of nourishment and for them to exerise while chasing the fish.

Regarding the tank, i know it is too small to keep 10 young red ear sliders in but don't worry, this is only their feeding tank.

The actual tank where they live in is much much bigger, the reason why i have a feeding tank is because i wish to avoid the water of the actual tank to be dirty. The filter of the actual tank isn't really working well currently.

The origins of the turtles are from petshops which don't want them anymore, most of them are runts or have softshell, shellrock, RI, or fungi infection thus no one buys them and the shop owners just gave them to me for free. I rescued more than 30 of them from numerous pet stores but unfortunately, after spending a large fortune, only 10 of them survived. Turtle farmers and pet shop owners do not care for their well being and only care to earn money and leave them in extreme bad conditions where they can bask or have not enough food to eat so they remain small and cute or the shopkeepers want to save the food money.

Enjoy!! Ratings and comments are greatly welcomed!

  • i dont know if i should feed my RES fish yet

  • How old are they?

  • should u have 2 because i want my turtle to be =]

  • ???

  • Thanks for posting.

Is there a good age (or size) to start feeding fish to the turtles? Does it just depend on the size of the feeder fish?

  • Well, there is no exact age to start feeding them fish, however for me, i will only start after they are at least 1 year old. For the first year, watch their diet, make sure they get enough proteins and other nutrients by feeding them good commercial turtle pellets and cuttle fishbone. Then when they are about a year old, you can start letting them hunt fish to exercise and to let them be more busy instead of idling around whole day waiting for food.

  • pooor fishies :(

  • @MultiSniper70 that is the point I was making. I didn't say it was good for him to have 10 in a tank that size. I have 3, and they are in a 65 gallon tank and still under 3 inches each.

  • @gamerkiki

um you need a big ass tank for 10 turtles you will propley need a 12ft tank for them or biger

  • Turtles love worms too :) Btw, I hope you got a bigger tank as that one is terribly too small.

  • You should not be keeping all of your turtles in a tank that small... It's a miracle they haven't all died.

  • this is so damn funny

  • its the squirtle sqaud attacking some goldeen !!

  • this song is really gay.

  • Reflex they aren't salt water turtles so the water we drink but it must be treated first.
