There is actually much controversy with this track. Marshall Jefferson says Lil' Louis actually jacked him for the beat after a jam session. Tyree's 'Acid Crash' and Mike Dunn's "Magic Feet" are responses to Lil Louis' theft.
On a personal note. I found the original pressing in the dollar Hip Hop section this afternoon. Gotta dig!

Eon sampled Lil Louis dude, you got the timeline messed up.
Don't you know that Video Clash is often Imitated Never Duplicated

@penshi everybody is sampling everybody period... tho i find house music to have the most varied forms of sampling, from straight up rips to mosaics of sound...

@penshi For those of you who don't know, THIS version, nor any other version like this in press is absolutely NOT the original. It was done by DJ Shawn T.(Shawn Hardison). He made the track, and it was used for the basketball team during warm-ups in high school at Hales Franciscan back in 86-87. It was played during our homecoming, and whom ever was DJ'ing the party that night, it was OVER. The song was on WKKC that weekend, and those other versions took off. Shawn NEVER got credit.....

@RAKSONGTIRAK I'm glad somebody else also noticed that the basic loop occured in Dr. Phibes' Acid Story one year before Video Clash was released, but i find it hard to tell where it's coming from originally: everybody is sampling everybody in house music :-)

Chicago is the Babylon, and birthplace for basically anything that has roots connecting to house music, pissed me off more than anything to hear that the Chicago garage was converted to a Verizon store, RETRIBUTION I SAY!
