Windows 7 is the most useful OS we have ever ran. Me and my buddies downloaded it free via Windows7FreeDLXcom (replace X with . ) and have had no troubles!

It probably would manage to run, but it would be really slow.

It actually does. Im Dual Booting WinXP and Win7 RC with only 448 MB of RAM and Win7 is runs pretty decent.
