However, despite all your preparations for your travels, you forgot one little detail. The first person you meet smiles and says something to you in Italian. What? You smile back...but what did he say? He smiles and repeats what he said before in Italian, "Pleased to meet you. My name is...." How many people did you think you would meet in Italy without knowing basic Italian introductions?
This Italian Video lesson will teach you how to introduce yourself in Italian. We will take you step-by-step through the pronunciation of each Italian word and have you introducing yourself in Italian in just three minutes! • mmm "conoscerla" the a, is it used in both cases whether you're meeting a male or female?

the reason i ask is, cuz in spanish(since it's so similar) in this particular case, the 'A' would be used, only when greeting a woman.

    Thanks a lot! ^^

    God Bless.

  • @star18 Yes, you have to use always "conoscerla"(conoscere + Lei) because in the formal form italians use the third female person. You have to think that you are talking about a third person (she) when you use the formal form. For exemple:

Lei è bello/a ---> You (formal) are beautiful
