Wyonegonic, the oldest girls' camp in the nation, was founded in 1902. We offer 3 ½ and 7 week programs for girls between 8 and 18 years old. Wyonegonic is a camp where girls challenge themselves in a non-competitive atmosphere and enjoy the beauty of friendship in the simplicity of the outdoors.
Our extensive waterfront offers swimming, diving, canoeing, rowing, sailing, sail boarding, and water skiing. Other activities include horseback riding, tennis, archery, land sports, pottery, arts & crafts, theatre, music and dance. Beyond the five instructional periods each day, there is time to play informally with friends, be alone to read a book or simply absorb the beauty of Wyonegonic - the mountain, the lake, and the tall pines.
Wyonegonic places an emphasis on outdoor living skills/ecology and an extensive out of camp tripping program in which all campers participate. Our focus is respect of the out of doors using the Leave No Trace principles. Each camper experiences at a minimum, an overnight at one of our wilderness campsites on Moose Pond with their cabin-group. Campers can opt to participate in many single and multi-day hiking, backpacking, canoeing and sea kayaking trips throughout Maine and New Hampshire.
Wyo changed my life! I will always be thankful that my parents were gracious enough to send me there. So happy to see the camp still doing what they do best! Kiyi!! :)
