"Fermina, de la calle Aranguren" is the 5th of ten pieces from the suite "Mis Amigos" by the Argentinian composer Carlos Guastavino which he wrote in Buenos Aires in 1966.. Carlos Guastavino (1912-2000) was one of the foremost Argentianian composers of the 20th century. His style was conservative, always tonal and lusciously romantic. His compositions were clearly influenced by Argentine folk music.
In this piece Guastavino's directions are "con pureza y candor", and this musical picture of Fermina definitely portrays her purity and candor.
