A NEW BEGINNING

I recorded this video on 20-Jul-07 at about 3:00 am. It was another night of insomnia, which is usual for me. In this video, I perform my original instrumental guitar composition "A New Beginning".


ABOUT THE TECHNIQUES
--------------------------------------------------------------
The guitar tuning for this song is DADGAD and I apply advanced fingerstyle techniques such as two-hand tapping, various harmonics, among others. The only effects I use for the audio are EQ, reverb and delay recorded in stereo.


ABOUT THE COMPOSITION
--------------------------------------------------------------
I composed this tune early 2006, shortly after undergoing two procedures to remove severe blockage from a couple of my coronary arteries. It was a close call for me and just a few days after my release from the hospital, my first grandson was born.

This song represents the spiritual awakening I received from this experience of having yet another chance at life. It has brought me closer to God, my family, people in general and has healed my soul, providing me with inner peace. I hope that you will feel some of this as you watch and listen.

Of Course he has heard of Phil Keaggy. Who has not heard of one of the finest Contemporary Christian guitarists, if not at least one of the most prolific in number of Albums produced. Phil is an icon and personal friend of Paul McCartney. I would be surprised if Robert has not listened to Mr. Keaggy exercise his gift of music. I agree with you that "Wheat in the Wind" was reminiscent of this. Great observation.
