Grandissima! Ce ne fossero che cantano il barocco come lo canta leì. Vale più lei di 10000 specialiste!

Strange! i hear a strong and powerful D ( as it was in Lyon Maria Stuarda 2007) not at all "squally".
-
Thank you for posting these videos. These performances were wonderful. Ruth Ann was in great form, as was Susan Graham. Patrick Summers was just a much a star of the show. The only disappointment was that Ewa Podles cancelled.

B.R.A.V.I.S.S.I.M.A. !!!

haha i have no idea.
-
I'm glad to see she's still singing, but she should stay away from those squally high notes: they're really ugly. She lost those notes even before she became ill.

oh I love good hate talk, but I'm not familiar with what happened, what did Gelb do?
-
cool! i thought so :) Yeah, Ruth Ann rocks...i am not into the hyped modern singers (Netrebko, Damrau,;even Dessay is a bit overrated)...gone are the days when hype actually meant something (i.e. Sutherland, Price, Nilsson, etc.)...
-
haha noooo way. i think the guy above was trash talking netrebko and i agree with what he is saying. ruth ann is one of the few good singers on the stage these days.

who r u talking about? Ruth Ann??
Her voice has changed as a result of chemotherapy, but she is as stunning as ever in Handel. She really is the best Handelian voice I've heard of late. de Niese has NOTHING on this lady.

instead he likes em singers who a.) dont take the time to study and do the cadenza written for her by the leading musicologist of our time coz frankly she couldnt be bothered; b.) disappoints a full-house with a doule-flat ending to Lucia's madscene and the cabaletta; c.) scoops and slides up to their high notes d.)spastic on stage..
i could keep going
