I absolutely love this version of the great "Billie Jean." By slowing the song down and making it an almost haunting ballad, the true beauty of the lyrics is revealed. In doing this, Cook (and Chris Cornell) made such a stellar tribute to a legend by showing the true beauty of the historical song. <3 you David. But, most importantly, may you rest in peace Michael Jackson, you were truly an influence in the musical world that will never been seen. You will be missed.

btl4life, did David say anything about mj before starting this tribute? I heard the bit at the end about mj probably laughing etc but am curious if he introduced that he was singing this song as a tribute.....

the night before in denver he said he received emails and requests to do the song but he didnt want to because he wanted to do it right and he didnt remember all of the words. so when in aspen the next night it was again requested, he said he'd try it but for us not to boo if he didnt get all of the words. thats where my vid starts and me yelling we'll help u sing it.

However, imho, it's really unfortunate that all those people weren't quiet and respectful in the beginning and throughout this beautiful performance in memory of Michael Jackson..

i completly agree. it pissed me off really. there was a couple drunk girls behind us who were lifting our arms trying to make us wave them and kept bopping us in the head as they jumped and frailed around all night!
