The french really do have it all. The alps, the castles, the vineyards, the southern climate, the med, aircraft manufacturing, the style, the cars, the food, the women and the TGV. As much as I hate paris, southern france is like an englishman's dream. Carcassonne and Nimes are 2 of my favourite southern towns. :)

If my math is right, we're talking 356 mph. This was accomplished by a vehicle that was all-out stressed, and stayed on the rail due to a 5/8 inch flange. Would you entrust your life to this? Regardless of weight, trains DO derail.

By contrast, Maglev handles these speeds in stride, and cannot fall off the beam. They operate at 1/3 the cost. There are no moving parts (except the doors). There are so many reasons to push for modern Maglev as opposed to an improved 1880's technology.

thank you, especially as I think about your trains, seats are to be returned in the direction of traffic, which does not happen on the TGV! and I believe there is more room for the legs!

really, it's a habit for American and English tell much bullshit! if we say that there was a serious accident on a normal way and there were 23 dead, is that there was an accident, not on a test track! it's amazing to be so stupid!!
