This traction elevator was originally an Otis and has been modernized by Thyssen. The Leeson & Lineham Building was originally built as a two level building in 1886, and then had 4 more stories added in early 1900's. I am betting there was no elevator in the original two level structure, but I don't know for sure. And yes I know I pronounced Thyssen incorrectly at the beginning of the video! :-)

  • Job is still incomplete! Needs protection for the fluorescent lamp on the ceiling! If you want your elevator re-done get someone that will complete it to AEDARSA specs.!

  • @kwtremblay - Alrighty then........!

  • Very nice mod job.

  • well that is fail, the elevator opens to some stairs! LOL!

  • @mariocrossing1 - That's what I was thinking at the time!

  • @danny12315 Thyssen elevators are more rare.

  • I agree! However, in the elevator it says 'Thyssen" without the 'krupp' part on the name. So why would it be posted like that in the elevator car?

  • The good thing about the Pre-ThyssenKrupp merger is: no Dover Buzz.

Nice oldie, but the modernization wrecks it.
