A small update on the situation. Over 6000 dead, over 1.000.000 infected all around the world and it will rage for several months to come. Get the shot when it's available, because it's no more dangerous than any other shot.

  • It's just a shame you didn't get it you genetic retard.

  • @dooyeweerd: it is, isn't it? If I had it and died from it, I could haunt you for the rest of your life. Now that would be fun, wouldn't it? =D

  • Just because you won't die, doesn't mean you won't end up living a miserable life. You have a better chance of catching aids then the H1N1 virus and I don't see a vaccine for that. Come on, it's just propaganda and why does this virus just mysteriously pop up all of a sudden.

  • My piece of advice: if you know nothing about medicine or viruses or anything about this matter, then just listen to the scientists who are trying to save your life.

Just think of this: a guy yells there's a bomb hidden in the building you work at. An other guy says "nah, he's just crazy and wants us to lose money". Meanwhile, the police arrives to check out the bomb. Now, do you remain in the building or do you run, based on the potential threat of dying?

Me? I'd rather be safe than dead.

  • However, it's just running in circles and over hyped reaction to something that you can fight If you catch anyway. So what I mean is, if I catch it I can still survive. Why would I be so worried about a virus that can be defeated after it's caught?

I'm more worried about vaccination shots then anything. Plus what's even more ridiculous is even if I believed to go around. Honestly, it's like worrying about an alien attack. While it's good to be prepared, I'll think I will survive IF it happens.

  • And if you jump in front of a car or train, you could survive as well. That's still no reason to do it, though.

Yes, you can catch it and survive, thank nature for that. However, you can also catch it and DIE. The vaccine is meant to prevent possible death.

So you have absolutely no idea what you're talking about. It's a REAL disease, people REALLY die from it, the vaccine will NOT cause any problems and could SAVE YOUR LIFE.

You're just a fool, TM. You're risking your life over ignorance.

  • I get my daily dose of heavy metal through itunes.

Okay, that was a bad joke, I know.

  • The virus has currently infected at least 907.168 people and has killed at least 6.592 people. Now, that's only the CONFIRMED numbers. In reality, a whole lot more are infected or even died.

Note that it is "just a flu virus" and not an auto-immune virus. AIDS is a virus which attacks the immune system, while the H1N1 virus does not. It can still kill you though. So don't start comparing things which are nothing alike.

Why does it pop up out of the blue? Because viruses do that all the time.

  • A vaccine is intended to protect you BEFORE you get the virus. Now, it's possible you don't get it, that's great. If you do get it, it's possible it'll just go over like a normal flu, that's less great, but still good. However, in case you ARE infected and it IS serious, you'd be sorry for not taking the vaccine.

Also, yes, a vaccine injects you with the virus itself, but only the DEAD virus. So you can't get infected by the vaccine. And yes, you could debate for hours, but I'd still be right.

  • Wow, so that's how you look. Anyway, I am not getting a vaccine. My grand parents didn't get swine flu, nor did my parents, so why should I be worried all of a sudden?

On top of that, a vaccination is like injecting yourself with a small dosage of the virus itself. What if you don't build up an immunity to it? There are just so many things wrong with getting the vaccine. I could debate you for hours. It's almost as twisted as your atheist belief or disbelief.
