We've actually not used heated insoles but that's just because we realized we couldn't carry every piece of kit that might make us feel more comfortable. We do have a set of water-poof seal-skin socks though that are brilliant. and dry feet are warmer feet :-)

@2ridetheworld First i want to congratulate for your great trip, it´s one of my dreams to do something similar. The equipment-gear issue is crucial, and one of the things that i was wondering is the boot issue, a regular touring boot will not give you the same protection as an enduro boot, but at the same time this occupies too much space in your luggage and are uncomfortable to walk around, haven´t you tried with heated insoles or socks in freezing temp´s? thank you very much for your answer .

With limited funds we can only really afford to carry one set of boots, the ones we wear. Yes, sometimes they're way too hot and sometimes our feet are bloody cold, it's just how things are but our motocross boots have saved us from serious injury many times over.

Our choice to use motocross boots is pretty simple. We've now been travelling for 9-years continuously and most of our journey has been off-road, sometimes because we've chosen that type of route other time, the off-road is simply because there is no choice, Mongolia is a good example. Of course we also experience every possible kind of climate and weather from the humid heat here in the Far East, but also freezing temp's of the Arctic or or the plains in Patagonia.

Touring with enduro boots on in hot weather? explain me that please...
2000u$s??? don´t you get stuff as good as this for half the price?? like klim Badlands, or maybe rev it defender outfit, or alpinestars durban? why spend that much? because of the touratech logo?

@munaki33 Actually we're not the best people to ask, we're not professional testers. There are many different manufacturers of riding gear, who make suits for different type of riders. I think everyone is different in terms of the type of riding they do, the quantity of time spent riding and of course how much or little money they have to spend, so it's down to individual circumstance and personal choice. All we can say is how impressed we are with the Touratech suits...

@2ridetheworld Thank you, the intention was not to criticize you, it was more to touratech and its pricing policy, it seems a great outfit with the best materials, and it´s a great review, how did you deal with it in very cold temp´s?

@munaki33 we've not yet used the suit in very cold temps as we are travelling in the Far East at the moment. We did have a couple of cold start's to day in Lao but noting that would really test the suits.
Are boots are now really comfy and we actually don't have a problem walking around, although I think we've just got used to it :-) That said I use the Gearne G10 boots and they have a articulated ankle so their flexible there and don't need 'breaking in'. continued below...
