  • STS 92 was needed to put the last parts on the station before Expedition 1 arrived. the Tranquility port had to be docked under the station so they can rotate it so the P6 and Destiny Lab could be added also the Z1 Antenna had to be placed on the roof so the crew can call home and the CMG needed to be activated so the station could steer itself without starting the Zvezda engine.
