Thanks for the great post! Ladyhawke was arguably ahead of its time in featuring real, very competitive F/F wrestling with hard-fought submissions. The women weren't supermodels and didn't have perfect (silicone-laden) bodies - nor were they 'roided-up bodybuilders - but were reasonably sexy, strong, and well trained. Also showed some diversity, as some were BBWs and women of color.
It's a concept that might be more successful today, given the current popularity of MMA and grappling.
