This tutorial is pretty simple
Difficulty: 3/10

SEE THE PICTURE TO KNOW WHAT TO SOLDER!! WHAT YOU ARE SOLDERING IS THE TWO POINTS OF THE FUSE TOGETHER!!
If you dont know where the Fuse is exactly here
(http://www.llamma.com/PSP/repair/images/PSP_fuse/Td-Fuse.jpg)
is the picture but it is a TA-082. My psp seen here is a TA-079 and is in the same location so if you dont see a "TD" on the chip its a TA-079 and is in the same location roughly

Tools Needed:

1 Whacked out PSP motherboard
1 Soldering Iron
1 Case of 0.5 OZ Electrical Solder (Rosin Core)

  • How did you know you needed to solder?

  • @usc5442 usual practice around a fuse

  • @Dominoes282 ah i see, and would you happen to know where the backlight fuse is located on a psp 3001?

  • @usc5442 Read 1st Well there are no photos of the fuse but it's possible to find (safely too!). What you do I disassemble the PSP and get to the motherboard. Keep the screen and power connected. First, take a look at the two clips from the screen connected to the motherboard, and focus on the smaller one (on the left). Where it's connected, follow any of the tracks until you reach a fuse. I don't know how many fuses there are so trial and error. Now turn on the PSP and cut off piece of solder.

  • @usc5442 Read 2nd. When you have cut the piece of solder, connect the two silver tabs on the fuse. If the backlight has come on or flashed, that's your fuse. Take a picture of it would be good too haha. Just follow the tutorial from there I guess. Hope this helps
