Song by Merle Haggard. Okie From Muskogee, 1969. This is a vid of one of my US Marine Corps heroes. He is Col Wesley Fox, a humble Marine who went from Private to Colonel during his time in the Marines. He wrote his book "Marine Rifleman" telling his story of being in the Marines that spanned 43 years of service in the US Marines. Every chapter of his book was titled as a rank that he held, and the end of every chapter was his "lessons learned" from that particular rank. This book touched my heart. I wanted to honor him and his family by making this video since no one ever did one on him yet. Thank you for being an inspiration to Marines of every generation, Colonel. We love ya', Sir! I got to personally meet him one day at the Camp Pendleton bookstore with his lovely wife, Dottie Lu. I saw a flyer that he was going to be there and I made sure to take time off work to meet him in person. What a treat that Miss Dottie Lu was with him, an unexpected surprise. I could feel the love he has always had for his family in his book, and relate to it. I shook his hand and he signed my book. What a great day that was. Semper Fi! CWO3 Shane Duhe, USMC
