In October of 1962, after reviewing newly acquired intelligence, President John F. Kennedy informed the world
that the Soviet Union was building secret missile bases in Cuba, a mere 90 miles off the shores of Florida.
After weighing such options as an armed invasion of Cuba and air strikes against the missiles, Kennedy decided
on a less dangerous response. In addition to demanding that Russian Premier Nikita S. Khrushchev remove all the
missile bases and their deadly contents, Kennedy ordered a naval quarantine (blockade) of Cuba in order to
prevent Russian ships from bringing additional missiles and construction materials to the island. In response
to the American naval blockade, Premier Khrushchev authorized his Soviet field commanders in Cuba to launch
their tactical nuclear weapons if invaded by U.S. forces. Deadlocked in this manner, the two leaders of the world's
greatest nuclear superpowers stared each other down for seven days - until Khrushchev blinked. On October 28,
thinking better of prolonging his challenge to the United States, the Russian Premier conceded to President
Kennedy's demands by ordering all Soviet supply ships away from Cuban waters and agreeing to remove the missiles
from Cuba's mainland. After several days of teetering on the brink of nuclear holocaust, the world breathed a
sigh of relief.
So what if the missles were actually launched? What would have happened? How the world have been changed, and who
would have survived? Full Retaliatory Response is a movie about one man that survived the nuclear holocaust. This
is the first movie in a trilogy series that tells his story, and introduces the main character to the viewers.
NOTES: I spent some time researching this movie, and putting it together. The script came out perfect, however
when the script was moved to Post Production, it became plagued with several bugs that currently cause mass amounts
of frustration with The Movies Game. Sound looping bugs, blinking corpses, and lighting effects. For instance you
will notice in the cellar scenes that the lighting changes, and I shot all of those scenes with a more darker effect,
but Post Production decided to turn some of the lights back on. I even reshot the scenes again, hoping it would fix
this problem, but it just happened again. So rather than spend another two weeks of pulling my hair out, I decided
to go ahead, and release the movie.
All the custom sound effects, and historical sound clips are not copywriten. They are free to use by anyone. I hope
you enjoy the movie, and I look forward to reading all the constructive comments, and criticism from the
community here.
EDIT 2: The Radio broadcast by Moscow is the REAL version, it's a recording from that time period, when radio wasn't as clear as it is today. It was the best version I could find. I interviewed a few people that actually heard that broadcast, and listening to it, they said it reminded them of the first time they'd heard it, and it was still just as hard to understand now as it was then. :)
I also do plan to explain how the main characer didn't die from exposure to radiation in the next film.
Thank you everyone for the reviews! :)
Speical thanks goes out to [CoFR]Old Geezer for helping me find the information I needed to make this film, special thanks also goes out to [CoFR]eagle1_77375, and [CoFR]PuG_NaYshuS for giving me a hands on account of what it was like to live through the Cuban Missile Crisis, and how scary that time period was.
