We just started carrying the Breville machines and had heard a lot about the pressurized baskets getting plugged up...so we decided to develop our own non-pressurized baskets! In this video, Gail talks to us about the baskets and shows us how they work.

To pick one up for your machine, go here: http://www.seattlecoffeegear.com/Breville-Non-Pressurized-Basket-Upgrade-p/sc...

  • I have had bad luck with Breville espresso machines..I'm 0/2 so I left and went to a traditional lower/Mid range Gaggia Classic and all is well. Not impressed even thought they look very elegant. I see these at Williams Sonoma and other mainstream retail outlets and that should have been a warning to me.

  • @14worldfilm Yep - like all machines, there is good and bad about these guys; some people love 'em, some people hate 'em :) Good to hear you found the machine that is right for you! - Kat

  • @chilipepperslooney Hahahaha - I agree. I always make videos that you guys ask for (except the most often requested one of me, however), so a little quid pro quo would be nice! ;) (union jack, tube sock or - dare to dream - a combination thereof is also acceptable) - Kat

  • @SeattleCoffeeGear Yeah, I guess that does sound more acceptable than the Union Jack loin cloth or tube sock I had in mind...

You should know this will now all be totally in vein, as I ended up making the upgrade to a sparkly new Auber PID'd Silvia sooner than I had in mind!

A promise is a promise though.

  • @chilipepperslooney A carefully positioned coffee bean bag ;) - Kat

  • @SeattleCoffeeGear Ah, thanks Kat, that sounds great!

I will upload a video as soon as i find my misplaced camera. Haha, we used to get a tv program called 'The Naked Chef' by a guy you may have heard of called Jamie Oliver, I guess I will be known to youtube as The Naked Barista! I will have to keep it reasonably tasteful in order to qualify as youtube friendly though!

  • @chilipepperslooney Well if you offer this you might have to back it up!! We are currently out of stock on these guys and have no ETA on when they'll be back in stock...but plan on adding them to our internationally available accessories/parts this year. Definitely sign up for the email when back in stock link and I hope to have them included in the international section of the site by then :) - Kat ps we expect videos!

  • Does anyone know if these baskets fit Cusinart EM-100 machine?

  • @MiscelaneousMadness I believe it can hold the same amount as the original; the pressurization on Breville's baskets is pretty slight. I know we are waiting for a new batch to be tweaked -- we have them on order and then we need to machine them, then they'll be ready. Hoping sometime this month :) - Kat

  • Hey Kat, does the non-pressurised hold more grams of coffee than the pressurised? And do you know when they will be back in stock, cuz this basket looks pretty cool?? Thanx :)
