3 reasons
1. It's local. That makes a huge difference for some people that want to try out competing, but don't want to travel a long ways to do it.
2. It occurs often. You don't have to wait a year between events.
3. It's smaller. Who wants NAGA or Grappler's quest in a large city to be their first competition? Schools have in-house competitions and this is just a step up from that, so that you can see different styles coming at you.

It also was the very first of the Best of the Best series. We are now in our 4th year with tournament #12.

It's not low class. It was the first tournament done in the area. That was in April 2008. February 20, 2010 will be the Best of the Best 12 at the Tip Top Ballroom, Omaha, NE. Things have grown since then. Gotta start somewhere.

common man, its not a shity tournament, its one that you pay less for less competition, thats why its small. Or its in a plce where there is a lower population.

WAIT! Too many people fight on youtube! lol, I didn't mean my comment in a disrespectful way, my wording was a bit harsh though ;)
-
This looks very low class.. How about going to a Naga or grapplers quest?

And now I realize why I might not remember that throw; his knee crashed right into the back of my head as he was coming down.

Yea, that'd be our John, and this is Andrew Uhlenkamp. We'd love any videos of our fights you guys have, if that's possible

@skiice93 yeah, but could you place or medal? Actions speak louder than words.

Holy SHIT! Dude, would you happen to have a full copy of those fights? We had a friend there taping for us, but he still hasn't put the video to computer yet for us to watch. I'm the guy with the cornrows with that hip toss right as the vid starts. I didn't even realize I'd hit that hip toss so well. I would love if you had a copy of the fights.

I have to check with the producer to see if he has that particular fight. I will let you know.

Yea, man, if you could post up the 194 lb No-Gi, that would be AWESOME !
I'd really like to see me grapple, especially before the next tournament.

Is this John Hansen? Again, I have check and see. This piece was out takes and I don't know all of the footage that was taken.
