  • Yes, the view is of the old bridge and you're looking west towards stonehouse.

  • Glad you liked it, there's a site called cyberheritage that has loads of stuff on it, well worth a look. Thanks for the comment.

  • Yeah, sure is. Glad you liked it. Ta for watching.

  • This is really rather depressing. I grew up in Plymouth and loathed it for its horrid concrete monstrosities and drab 60s exteriors. This version of Plymouth is beautiful and a place I would have been proud to have lived in rather than ashamed to mention

  • lol thats really nice, i'm only 16 and i was born and breed in plymouth and sometimes i resent it because at times i find it so boring but seeing it like that before the blitz i'm proud to live here and luvin the janer impression by the way lmao

  • it is such a shame how many beautifull buildings we lost in the Blitz. At least we still got the Barbican which is still beautifull!

  • anyone have any memories or photos of Burrington house, it sttod where the John Kitto school is now, very hard to find evidence of its existance. You can go into Ham woods and see a small part of a walled garden but thats about it!

  • A delightful little film, my family moved to Plymouth in 1954 when I was 6, I remember almost being knocked down by a tram ! It must have been one of the last ones? I wasn.t born there but I grew up in Plymouth, I still love the place & regard It as my home town/ city

  • lovely pictures...my old hometown and a great city

  • 2:49 is the south end of Mutley - a busy road junction. All the buildings and walls are still there - and it's still a pub on the corner. I wonder what the exodus of people was.

  • Beautiful pictures. Such a shame so many beautiful buildings were lost.

  • Hasn't changed much then.

  • Thank you for this post. I have lived in Plymouth nearly all my life and love the city and the wonderful people who live here. I think now though it has lost a lot of it's charm but I am glad to say that I have my memories of the Plymouth past and the city will always be in my heart.

  • good stuff lovely music as well. My family from plymouth Most of this on here before my time but still love plymouth
