@emnateforever If only an inch or so should be used, they would make cello bows much shorter! Like sparkie7139 said, just look at some of the best cellists in the world! Yes, sometimes you use only part of the bow, but being able to use the whole bow is a good thing, not a bad thing!
@Cellorulz ok some of the best and most prestigious cello players use the whole bow and i am sure it depends on the note and placement of at the time it is played go look at Zoe Keating and Mattew Schoening and Yo Yo Ma

@Cellorulz Actually, my cello teacher tells me to use as much bow as possible, so this girl might have been taught like this too.
