  • And what are people doing? cutting down the amazon and other forests. We are fu*ked

  • Research into an historic episode of climate change, during which temperatures rose by 5C (9F), suggests that it was caused by a massive release of carbon dioxide and methane. The abrupt period of global warming, known as the Palaeocene-Eocene Thermal Maximum (PETM), caused temperatures to rise significantly, as 4.5 trillion tons of carbon were released into the Earth’s atmosphere over 10,000 years, At the rate we are releasing carbon dioxide, we will surpass this amount in 150 years.

  • urging world nations to do what........stop the flow of energy that is required for global economic growth?

  • The 'fact' that carbon emissions cause global warming is all hype.

  • @chernobylFarms "Soft, as contrasted to Genocide, wh.."

You are totally missing the point. Basically you are talking about the different methods by saying "Hard & soft". Does it matter if the people don't agree with the decision? No method would be acceptable if the people don't agree to that even if the consequence not taking it is much worse.

Fact is clear, the population can't grow forever, possibly too late. You still have to explain for acceptance regardless which method we'll take.

  • @allgoo19 Soft, as contrasted to Genocide, which damages the psyche of survivors, knowing their own kind had turned upon them. Even natural catastrophes do not leave that special kind of lasting memory. The river does what it does, and is not a monster. But Governments can become monsters.

  • @slimbruddah Had to why?

  • @Maxdwolf Only did because I had to.
