The Class 15 Preservation Society moved their locomotive, D8233 from it's former home of Crewe Railway Age to The East Lancashire Railway in February 2006. Here's a video account of the move, shunt and fun which took place over those two days...

  • IS HORRIBLE THIS TRAIN

  • Yes, it's ugly, poorly designed and unreliable. That's why we're restoring it.

  • I remember seeing this at Bury about 1988 ?

  • "Tosser!"" ha ha ha Slightly off topic, but nice to see the APT. Can't wait till she's out on railtours embarssing all the 'modern' crap which is out there at the moment! 155mph, love to see a 'pretendolio' attempt that!

  • Ha, Rocky 4! Nice !

  • Any chance of a video of the lovely COBO as it is at the moment? Love those machines! If you do add one, please will you let me know?

    Thanks mate!

PS If you get bored, have a look at some of my videos!!

  • @headstandking Yeah unfortunatley the CoBo is stored up at Baron street, well the Body is anyway, as it's been lifted from it Bogies so the 5 Traction Motors can be repaired.

As for the 15 I think that's at Castlecroft shed at the moment, or it may be up at Baron street sheeted over as it currentlly doesn't have it's cab & B end on.

  • CoB? Yeah !!! What a brill bit of old machinery. Saw it as D5705 a number of times when it was at Derby Research. Was on the East LAncs railway a few months ago and really wanted to see it - but evidently away in a non accessible shed. DAMN! I love the old b&w photos of CoBo's on the internet. Such a photogenic loco.

  • @headstandking

Not a problem , was a bit bored so started looking through some of the comments.

Have a look on the C15PS (Class 15 Preseravtion Society) webite.

They are also working on the class 28 'Metrovick' which is another unique Loco, as it's a CoBo (6driving wheel at one end, 4 at the other CoCo= 2x6 wheels BoBo= 2x4 wheels CoBo= 1x4 wheels & 1x6 wheels)

  • @Andi090386 Oh right. Thanks for the reply! Wow - I asked that question 2 years ago. What's the latest news?

  • @headstandking Few reasons:

    1) The engine was siezed up on the 15

    2) The bogies currentlly on the 15 do not have the right pinion gears

    3) It would have cost more to have a Mainline rgistered loco (20/37/47/57/59/66/67) & barrier wagons/s collect the loco from Crewe & take to the East Lancs Railway & taken more time.

  • thank you for this very interesting vidéo

See you on the rail of the passion

thank you for watching my channel
