This was built in the 30's by the Civilian Conservation Corp which FDR created to give young men a place to live and work with 1.00 dollar a day for pay and 3 all-you-could-eat meals plus lodging. 800 Parks were created during that time across America. 250,000 men were enrolled in the CCC! The men also learned skills for living which they never forgot! Incredible! I hear they even made a lot of the furniture in Timberline Lodge
