Eighty-two World War II veterans flew from Springfield, Il. to Washington, D.C., on Sept. 13, 2001 for a one-day tour. The "Honor Flights" are a way to say "Thank you" to the veterans. During the war, about 16 million American military members were serving worldwide. About two million are alive today.

  • All these places to honor our veterans so distance, age and finances should not keep them from their pride. They deserve it. Thank you veterans.
