I love heat lightning. Once saw heat lighning in the uk. Not like this though it was flashes in a completely clear sky produced by refracted light from a distant thunderstorm. Very weird.

This storm reminds me of the supercell that produced an F4 tornado that hit the Raleigh area of N.C. on Nov 28, 1988. The tornado cut a path a little over 80 miles long. I remember the lightning while watching that storm. It looked like a time lapsed thunderstorm. Very good video showing that this really does happen.
