Grupo Cimarrón perform "Y soy llanero"

The lively sounds of traditional joropo music can be found throughout the plains of Colombia and Venezuela. Created by ranching people with a love of cattle, horses, music, and dance, the joropo's driving rhythm and percussive stringed instrument sound draw from centuries-old Spanish, African, and New World musical traditions that contributed to the region's unique mestizo (mixed) culture. The music reflects the pride the plains people have in their history and culture. Here, Grupo Cimarrón, a "supergroup" of Colombia's finest joropo musicians, perform "Y soy llanero" (And I Am a Plainsman), a song that extols and romanticizes the plains and its cattle ranchers. Estoy de acuerdo con usted, esa musica es tipica llanera, departamentos del Meta, Casanare... etc. Los nonbrados son departamentos de Colombia. Muy linda cultura. Si ni de Colombia ni de Venezuela. Los Llanos Orientales... lindos atardeceres.

Ahora,decir que no conoce cantantes insignes de joropo colombiano es muestra de q no sabe mucho de llanera o q no quiere ver más allá.Aqui se admira a Montoya,al Carrao,a Reynaldo.Pero L.Silva,R.Lucero,y otros por ese estilo son,pienso,guates destemplados q de joropo poco,pa mí nada como los criollos.Pa q los descubra y disfrute,he aquí una lista de los grandes de la musica llanera colombiana,admirados en AMBOS lados:JuanFarfán,CholoValderra­ma,DumarAljure,WalterSilva,Eld­aFlórez,VirginiaRocha,etc
