Djelem - Codru [Cathie Travers]

I found this track on a fantastic compilation album called Gypsy Caravan from the Putumayo label; highly recommended! Simple and beautifully haunting. On my recording is: electric violin line played on FR3 v-accordion; a couple of acoustic guitar tracks - nylon and steel string; bass and cello pad are from a Korg micro-X synth and marimba from the Garritan orchestral instrument pack. Vocals and acoustic accordion live to camera.

Wish you were at the American National Accordion Convention in Dallas this last weekend. It was pretty fabulous. Eddie Monteiro was a surprise guest and played an unbelievable medley of Brazilian songs on his Roland FR7 and he also sang in Portuguese and English as well as scat.

This song is called correctly 'Codrii Moldova' is about Forest . .

CODRU is the Largest and Dense forest in Moldova !!!
