Phish performs The Talking Heads 'Born Under Punches' at their historic Halloween concert in 1996 at The Omni in Atlanta GA. This version has had the audio improved. Big thanks to tdunski for posting the original vid! Enjoy phaners.

  • @gclafontaine ........you are an ignorant prick. why would you compare phish 96 to talking heads 80? how is the talking heads version of you enjoy myself? its not about playing it better than the talking heads anyway a-hole. its about paying tribute, turning some kids onto a great band from an earlier era, and having a great time on halloween. please continue to stay home and watch your fat pig wife brush his teeth and leave the fun to the rest of us.....

  • Phish i would also say is probably the best cover band out there.

Have you ever listened to SCI try and do some covers. shit blows.

Phish has got it down. Its not the same as the original but thats why its a cover.

You ever hear Trey try and sing Bruce Springsteen? Shit sucks so much ass, but still was fun to hear.

  • and No Phish does not chew up Talking heads in '80's era. Trey will never be a David Byrne and I dont think there willl be a better music dvd than Stop Making Since at least for a wile.

God u people are stupid. David Byrne in the 80's is to much get some.

  • Wooow cant believe people are comparing Phish to Talking Heads. too funny.

2 totally different bands in 2 totally different eras. wooow,

  • @TheCavern2009 no, that is taking it one step too far.....this is nowhere near as good as the talking heads version.....but thats because thats brilliant

you are just as bad as gclafontaine for saying that

  • @gclafontaine Man....unreal......you miss every point of this cover....oh well, for the record PHISH chews the heads up in any time era....when Trey was a fetus, he was better....

  • We're each entitled to our own opinions, but a lot of people here are being fucking dicks about it.

Personally, I love Talking Heads, and I think this is a fun cover.

And you need to see it for what it is. A cover. A COVER. They're nodding their heads to a band that had a huge influence on them. Obviously it's not going to be the same as the original, but I enjoyed their interpretation of the song.

  • @gclafontaine you just about missed it

  • This is truly painful to listen to. Trey has as much soul as a CPA.

  • @gclafontaine

    obvious troll is obvious
