No, a lot of people thought PDZ was a decent launch title. Am I engaging in hyperbole when I say PDZ is "shit"...you bet. Is it still a major letdown...yes.
You still havent explained why you feel a great FPS (94% gamerankings) shooter from the late 90's is "overrated" - given the control setup, graphic limitations etc of the n64...what would have made PD "hold up" today?
BTW Rrevan was right..EGM gave it 9.83 dumbass

B. Legendary status? Dude... if the game was so legendary and sold so many copies... why did it take so long to release a sequel?
Why did Microsoft want Rare to work on other things? They wanted Rare to develop family friendly games so that the 360 could compete with the wildly successful Wii. After Viva Pinata they put them solely on Kinect games... and it paid off. The Kinect device is the fastest selling consumer electronic device in history. That beats Perfect Dark by a lot.

Dude, I looked at rrev and goldengirl and even I'm confused about what your point is. You said nostalgia lies earlier, suggesting you feel PD is overrated and doesn't hold up today...but what's your point? It's an N64 game...shouldn't PDZ have improved on its AI after 7 years of development, not just recycled the same shitty tactics.
Is PDZ a good game? - Not really - it's a generic fps - even rare said they bungled PDZ...why you making it all personal dipshit?

PDZ was totally bare bones rubbish compared to the original. No unlockables, music isn't that great compared to the originals, Joanna's British accent removed, bad engine. Seriously..enemies that die and bounce around like ping pong balls? Single player mode...boring compared to the original.
