LAFPUL - Episode 40
I nodded, as we got into Nick's car (he drove with Taylor) and went to the hospital.
*After 2 hours of Testing*
I sat in the emergency room.
It was horrible.
They stuck me with about 10 needles so far.
The doctors walked in, waking up Taylor from her slumber.
"Whats wrong with the baby?" Taylor asked.
The doctor pursed his lips and sat down.
A couple nurses sauntered in the room and stood at the door, closing it behind them.
He looked down at the clipboard. "Says here that you're 18."
I nodded. "And?"
"Its not as bad as i thought .. but, we do have some bad news, Ms.Lovato."
Tears welled up in my eyes.
"The baby .. he didnt have a chance. He wouldnt have even gotten far enough to be born, Demetria." he whispered loud enough for me to hear.
Taylor looked over at me.
Everything went in slow motion.
I stared at the wall, waiting for him to tell me he was joking.
HE .. HE .. My baby was a HE.
Crimson .. my poor Crimson ..
"So .. my b-b-baby's DEAD?" i croaked.
One nurse looked up at me from fiddling with her fingers. She nodded. "Sorry to hear."
"What .. how .. why?" i stuttered.
The doctor stood up and walked to my bed.
He stood next to me, and took my hand.
"When he was made .. it was .. how do i put this?"
Taylor looked over. "Not done good enough?"
The corners of his mouth tilted up. "Yes, what she said."
His face went serious again.
"We're very sorry for your loss." he whispered, then left along with the nurses.
So many questions went unanswered.
So many needs were unfullfilled...
I needed Nick.
He needed to know immediately.
"Taylor .. call Nick."
She nodded slowly, dialing his number.
"Ni-nick?" ... "Are you on your way home?" ... "Come to Mercy Hospital as fast as you can." ... "Yeah .. its about Demi."
She then took the phone from her ear.
He had hung up.
*About 5 minutes later..*
Nick ran into the room, stopping when he saw my tear stained cheeks.
"What is it?" he blurted.
I looked over at him and uncontrolable tears came out of my eyes.
"NO NO NO NO! THE BABY! MY BABY!" he cried, rushing to my side.
He put his ear to my stomach, grasping onto my leg at the same time.
Taylor stood by Taylor's side as girl Taylor cried her poor little eyes out.
"Why not me?! Why couldnt they have MY baby?!" she cried.
She made me cry more, as the night was overwhelmed with tears .. and darkness.
