Round Pens-Horse Behavior Playing- Horse Fighting - Rick Gore Horsemanship

-This is a great video of Buddy and Mr. T playing, people that don't understand horse will think they are fighting. This is a good example of horses being horse and using a round pen not just for work. I do a quick demo on how you develop softness by working your horse with NO halter and just a rope around the horse's neck. I talk about horse behavior and how horses play, show dominance and bite and kick while playing. These horses are best of buds and even thou buddy takes a hard kick to the chest, it was nothing personal. You can see horses kick softly or harder, how they bite soft or hard. The behavior in this video is far to often confused as aggressive, dangerous or bad, it is not, it is normal, fun and beautiful to me because "I think Like a Horse" -

@tammyslooking1 I'm just going to guess that she doesn't associate the round pen with a positive experience. Change that by making the pen a place where good things happen. Try feeding her in the round pen. Leave her in the round pen alone with good food as the next step. Move up to actually leaving her in the round pen overnight. Where you sleep is always going to become a place of comfort and safety. But use your judgement based on how she reacts to each step.

?how to teach a horse to be the trainer?? haha - good job Buddy! Hey Rick, got a new mare and I can't seem to get the mare to give space in the round pen. She's probably never been in a round pen? But she crowds me terribly, she will push her chest into me and won't back up. She seems scared to death & if I raise my arms, she rears, then pushes into me again. We've tried walking her around in the pen to calm her, but when the lead is taken off, she wants to glue herself to me - shaking scared

some people just dont know how to deal with horses my friends older sister is really bad. her horse wasnt jumping so she keepd whiping him saying stupid horse and she went inside. but we had to train the horse for compotion so me and my friend got the horse and he jumped the first time hehe
