although nothing like chopin when it comes to composing piano solos. Schumann is definitely a pure genius in the harmony of the strings.

One of the best performances of this great work. I have the cd. I'd like to have this on dvd. Schumann bases it on Bach's E flat fugue from The Well Tempered Clavier.

This piece isn`t like a piano quintet; it`s like a piano concerto, I think. The piano solo is dominant in this composition.
I`m practicing this quintet now (piano) --------- AAARRRGGGHHH!!! The devopment is REALLY hard!!!

I love how the viola has an important part in this quintet, especially in the second movement.
