In horse riding, leads can be a frustrating thing for new riders, but everyone can learn them with proper assistance from the ground. Master the right and left leads with help from a riding instructor in this video on leads in horse riding.

    Since they have not answered your question, I will, or try to. :P

    In dressage, it is more common to see a more contacted canter. Sitting on your seat bones, moving your hips with the movement of the horse. In jumping it is more common to see them leant forward, rather then straight in dressage, and in two point. It is called a light seat, and it is kind on the horses back, allowing them to be more open in their strides.

  • erg its so frustrating with the leads! My coach is trying to get me to feel it without looking down but its so hard.. i think its harder to sit the right lead and its supposed to be the opposite, gur its so frustrating.

  • I've been riding for a bit now and leads still piss me off :P

  • gahh i stuffed up my horses muscles then... when i was a beginner i was so bad at riding and i found that one way was easier to ride so i only did that side for months bloody hell now I'm pissed at my self ;(

  • y do u not sit ur bum in the saddle while in canter? i thought thats a safer way cuz if ur horse stops ur defo going out the front door...
