  • Typical TV of its era.

  • Thank you for this clip of 26.01.68; I was only six days old at the time so of course I don't remember it, but it is very interesting all the same!

  • Gonna work on a recon of this some time. I will have to get my mum or GF to do some hand modeling for the GERMS bit at the end :D

  • Apparently not one single second of All Systems Freeman remains in the BBC Film and Tape Archive, all 13 editions were wiped in the 1970's.

  • God, this is a rarity, I wonder if it came off the same Phillips CV200 tape, the same one where I saw Reggie Bosenquet reading the news and a 1968 BBC Testcard. I know that tape has been doing the rounds.

  • The weatherman was Graham Parker (no not the one that was with the Rumour in the late 1970s!)

  • Hmm...I'm sure that voice was still on BBC1 twenty years later when I were a lad!

  • Yep, Friday 26th January 1968. Noticeboard I've always suspected was where a lot of the b&w PIFs on Charley Says 2 were originally shown.

  • Last week of January, presumably, although the Thule Air Base crash happened on the Sunday, not the Monday. And a single frame from a 1968 PIF!

  • Notice Board.... just seems VERY BBC.
