  • What if you're not working off a pattern? For example, I started off with 36 stitches on three dpns (12 sts per needle), so I made my heel flap with 18 and left the other 6 unworked stitches on the third needle. How many rows would you recommend for my heel flap?

  • @anthecouturier Hi there, the number of rows will depend on your gauge and foot measurements. The best thing to do is check out some of the great sock-making formulas out there, so that you can plug in your measurements and get a custom pattern. Just type "sock knitting formula" into Google to check them out!

  • @anthecouturier Measure it, and make it into as close of a square shape as you can, depending on what your gauge is.
