I have many more protective styles on the way! As most of you know, I keep my hair tucked away 90% of the month. This is how I keep my hair well preserved. Now that I've reached my goal of bra strap length, my new goal is waist length. I am roughly 3 inches away. So in another 6 months, I should be there. At that time, I will blow dry and or flat iron my hair to see reveal it's true length.

About MOISTURIZING-
In this video, I only use plain water and Fruit of the Earth Aloe Vera gel (which can be found on Amazon.com) Normally, I will simply use my leave in conditioner mixture before creating this style. But since I'd already used it 2 days previously and then coated my hair with a shea butter and jojoba oil mixture to stretch it out, my hair is already matted with product build up.
When my hair is matted with product and tangled like this, it is time for a wash. But the great thing about this style is that it can disguise "dirty" hair!
About SHEA BUTTER-
Yes, shea butter, no matter how "raw, unrefined and natural", is still a product. Keep in mind that just because it is a "natural" product, does not mean it won't build up on the hair. Actually, I find that shea butter attracts more dust to my hair and gives it a dull appearance. I'm not saying shea butter is "bad" (obviously, I wouldn't use it if that were the case) but it is a fat that can't completely penetrate the hair. Some of the fatty acids found in shea butter can penetrate the hair, but most of it is too big and simply sits on top of the hair strand.
About Thick/ Thin hair--
My hair is of NORMAL density. It is not thick or thin. Sorry, not up for debate. I'm the only one handling my hair, thank you very much. ;o) Density is determined by the number of hairs on your head per square inch. It is pretty much determined by your genetics. Some people find that their hair thickens up when they exercise or improve their diet. That is simply your dormant follicles waking up and producing hairs.
My hair density has not changed. I can still use banana clips, etc. it has just gotten longer. Sometimes the variations in your hair length will cause it to feel or look thicker. This is much like the effect a layered cut has on the hair.
