At the AFL-CIO Labor Day Picnic in Cincinnati, President Obama speaks on labor, and the hope to "combine the enduring values that have served us so well for so long: hard work and responsbility."

He also reminded the crowd that the stimulus package "is working" - and reminds naysayers with 'selective amnesia" how bad the economy was "seven months ago".

"Our financial system has been saved from collapse," he says. "Our recovery plan is working."

  • Now darrellmellisa, I have not attacked you personally, except for the cute thing and I only wrote it to make fun of the Alaskan bimbette not you. I know you're up there in age, though I am not far behind, I'm almost 62. I have attacked youir racism and that is as personal as I got because racism is a cancer that I wish would be eradicated. I cannot change your mind on race or politics. I either get all upset over it or call you on it.

  • @CarnivorousBiped I appreciate that. And I completely agree with your last reply. I wish there were alot more people as open minded as u r...it's as refreshing as it is encouraging.

  • @Sonofliberty1000 It seems we will never agree on the means toward the ends, yet, we both have the same ends in focus: what is best for our country. It will be a good day when we can get back to debating economic policy or foreign policy as opposed to who's a Nazi and who's a racist or Communist. I am getting tired of the likes of Beck, Limbough and yes, Gore and Oberman.

You seem a man of principal and I admire that. Continue fighting the good fight.

Like you handle as well: Son Of Liberty...

  • @Sonofliberty1000 Sorry you couldn't get to the video on the disability updates. Yes the other was just a campaign ad but McCain did dodge the vote on Sen. Webb's bill that helped vets with education. My original point is that our prez has done more for the American ppl than any before him. You would not agree with many of his accomplishments but accomplishments he does have.

  • @CarnivorousBiped I am not of the priveleged class, but I'm responsible enough to invest in my own retirement and not depend on the government...I'll leave the taxes I've payed into social security to those who need it...btw what happened with that cost of living raise to social security...?...oh yeh, it was shot down...sounds pretty compassionate to me...a little responsibility and accountability goes a long way to provide ourselves a good retirement without waiting around for the handout...

  • @CarnivorousBiped seems very admirable, the added protection to the native americans, but the one video was a 31 second campaign ad and the other requested video could not be found, read about stuart chase in in reference to new deal, also about one of the main architects of the bill stepping down from the administration, stating its failure to put the american people back to work...but kudos to obama on the protections to the native american people, dont think it translates a successful presidency

  • @Sonofliberty1000 "lol...suuuure...u got kool aid stains.."

    An I wear them proudly.

With corporate greed destroying the middle class which has supported this country for decades, why would you want to do away with a president that wants to give you a tax break, protect you from fraud from health care providers and save Social Security to help you in your old age?

Unless you are in the privileged class.

  • @Sonofliberty1000 "just curious...what additional protection did women and native americans acquire?..."

    watch?v=h4K1UYCC0dQ

"elaborate on the additional protections to the disabled

    watch?v=vjxGLqVYdoo

".the veteran bill would have been passed regardless who was in office.."

    Oh really? watch?v=kcDMD0B7r88&feature=related

".just wish he would have spent more then 7% of his adult life in the private sector...we'd have jobs and not an E6 figure of almost 20%.."

    Remember FDR in '34?

  • @Sonofliberty1000 i don't care what you THINK they stand for, all you need to KNOW is what they've DONE when they are in power. deficits soar, jobs are lost, the rich get richer, and the dupes like you keep bending over and taking it...with a smile. keep dreaming that a party of "fiscal responsibility and small government" exists, honey, 'cause believe me you obviously can't handle the truth of reality.

  • @CarnivorousBiped just curious...what additional protection did women and native americans acquire?...I think alotta that legislation was shark meat stuff...also elaborate on the additional protections to the disabled....the veteran bill would have been passed regardless who was in office...that's a gimme...just wish he would have spent more then 7% of his adult life in the private sector...we'd have jobs and not an E6 figure of almost 20%...he promised stimulus wouldn't let it go above 8%, sooo

  • @CarnivorousBiped lol...suuuure...u got kool aid stains...I'm glad UR happy with him, enjoy it while it lasts...could be worse...could be jimmy car--oh wait...
