Ocean City - Green laser pointers at airplane

Green lasers flashed at my plane, 4 July 2010 while circling Ocean City, MD.

One of the lasers was almost 5NM away and VERY accurate! We sure could use people like that in Iraq to laser designate targets.

The lasers were very distracting and coming from the entire right side and direct front of the aircraft. Multiple people were shining the lights from the ground.

Another person was VERY persistent and followed the aircraft for 2 minutes or more while circling.

Yet another person illuminated us from an anchored boat.

In all more than 6 individuals tracked the aircraft during our flight. We ended up landing early because of these people.

@MrDontpissmeoff777 - Even from a few miles away we could easily see the exact source of the lasers. We planned on confronting one of the people that were in this hotel, but we decided against it (Thinking it'd be five drunk frat guys). Thinking about it, if I was smart I would have gone to the hotel room and just told the guy "I get to deck you once clean in the face as payback -- That, or have a felony record...hurt for a day or hurt for years?". In the future I'll keep that deal in mind.

i love lasers, but they should only be used responsibly. Now because of immature people like them, they are banned in Australia and now i cant get one above 1mW. Thanks alot assholes

obviously i would use my Laser pointer 2 help aim a AC-130 like the spec ops on Modern Warfare 2 or a sniper
