This will reduce drying time, prevent dryer fires and prolong the overall life of you dryer. It can be done by anyone. You need a nut driver or socket wrench, and a putty knife. Some people say a flat head screwdriver but I think it's too wide and can damage the dryer panel. Save a lot of money and half you day waiting for a service call to arrive. Sears charged $163 for this service last time they came out, luckily we had the service plan in place that covered the cost.
